Minnesota Radio's Goals
Hmong
Minnesota Radio (HMR) station broadcasts on a which has a range of 75
miles radius and is received on a special radio. HMR is
the first radio station Hmong own in the United States located in
Minneapolis MN, and broadcast 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The HMR is to broadcast news, entertainment, and educational/cultural
programs in Hmong language to promote social harmony for every Hmong
family while unifying the myriad voices of Hmong people into on
force that create a political body of Hmong in all level of
government forms to improve the Hmong community in a new society. It
believed that HMR is the
basic unit of the Hmong community and it’s valuable resources that
providing every one with essential support will make a difference. HMR pursues the following purposes:
- Broadcast News daily in Hmong Language, local, national, and
international
- Advertising Businesses that serve the Hmong community
- Public Announcements that related and benefit the Hmong
community
- Talk Show to discuss issues that related and benefit the
Hmong community
- Promote Hmong Music, folksong, and poetry
- Teaching Hmong Youth and Parent Education
- Teaching Hmong Literacy, Story, and History to maintain
Hmong cultural heritage, value, and identity
